In Gaia Project, fourteen distinct factions vie for control of a modular galaxy, each bound to their own home planet type. To expand, you must terraform neighboring worlds into environments your species can inhabit, all while competing against other groups for the same limited space. Unlike its predecessor, Gaia planets are neutral ground open to any faction for colonization, and Transdimensional planets can be converted into Gaia planets for even more strategic options.
Every faction can improve in six key areas of development: Terraforming, Navigation, Artificial Intelligence, Gaiaforming, Economy, and Research. Advancing in these fields unlocks powerful technologies and special bonuses that can shift the balance of power. On top of that, each faction has its own unique skills and abilities, ensuring no two playthroughs feel the same.
The playing area is built from ten sectors, allowing for a highly variable setup that boosts replay value far beyond Terra Mystica. For two-player games, you’ll play on seven sectors, keeping the competition tight. Whether you’re a veteran strategist or a newcomer hungry for a deep cosmic challenge, Gaia Project delivers a sprawling, ever-changing puzzle of planetary conquest.
