Welcome to Gloomhaven, a world of shifting motives and dark ruins where you and your friends become wandering adventurers, each with unique skills and personal reasons for braving this treacherous corner of the map. This isn’t just a one-off game—it’s a persistent, ever-changing campaign ideally played over many sessions, where every decision shapes the story like a "Choose Your Own Adventure" book. Together, you’ll clear menacing dungeons and forgotten ruins, gaining experience and loot to enhance your abilities, discovering new locations, and fueling an ever-branching narrative driven by your choices.

Combat is a co-operative affair against automated monsters, powered by an innovative card system. On each turn, you choose two cards from your hand: the number on the top card determines your initiative for the round, setting the order of play. Each card has a top power and a bottom power, and when it’s your turn, you decide whether to use the top of one card and the bottom of the other, or vice-versa. But beware—over time, you will permanently lose cards from your hand. If you take too long to clear a dungeon, you may become exhausted and be forced to retreat. Every choice of card and every moment of hesitation matters in this Euro-inspired tactical battle for survival.
