Description

Gloomhaven: Jaws of the Lion is a standalone prequel that eases you into the world of tactical dungeon crawling without the heavy setup. The game ditches the cardboard map tiles entirely — instead, you play directly on the scenario book, with fresh artwork for every mission.

You’ll command one of four new heroes: the Valrath Red Guard (a tank with crowd control), the Inox Hatchet (a ranged damage dealer), the Human Voidwarden (support and mind control), or the Quatryl Demolitionist (melee damage and obstacle manipulation). These characters can also be used in the original Gloomhaven.

Face off against 16 monster types, including seven new standard foes and three new bosses, across a 25-scenario campaign that starts with a simple investigation into disappearances in the city — and quickly spirals into something far more sinister. Is it Vermlings, or something worse?

Designed for a more casual audience, the game lowers the learning curve with a simplified rule set and a five-scenario tutorial that teaches you as you play. No more hours of organizing — just flip open the book, pick your hero, and get right to the action.
