Crokinole is a classic dexterity game for two or four players, played on a circular wooden board with three scoring rings and a recessed center hole worth the most points. The board features a ring of posts around the inner circle that act as obstacles, making precision shots tricky and rewarding. Players take turns flicking wooden disks (like checkers pieces) from their quadrant on the outer boundary, aiming to land in the highest-scoring ring: 5, 10, or 15 points from the outside in, with a 20-point bullseye for landing in the center hole.
If no opponent's disks are on the board, your shot must reach the inner ring or it’s removed. Once an opponent’s disk is in play, you must hit an opponent’s piece — either directly or by bouncing another disk into it. Any disk that lands in the center hole is removed and scored at the end of the round. Disks that fall outside or touch the outer boundary after a shot are also removed for the round. The player or team with the highest total points wins the round and earns 2 points; a tie gives each player 1 point. A standard game is played to four rounds, but tournament matches can vary. Alternatively, play to a set score like first to 100 points, using cancellation scoring — for example, if Player One scores 250 and Player Two scores 225, Player One adds 25 to their game score. Whether you’re a casual flicker or a competitive sharpshooter, Crokinole brings the thrill of finger-powered strategy to your table.
